I was drawn to Mukha Abhyanga and Face Marma Therapy from Ayurveda’s ancient wisdom - from a modern day - want to look our best mentality, preserve our youth while ageing with grace.

The first treatment I had was with @johannacaseyayurveda and I was astounded at the deep nurture I felt from ‘just a massage to the face’.

My whole body and being felt at ease. My teacher, mentor and Ayurvedic practitioner, Stephen Brandon described to me that it’s as close to purusha (pure consciousness) that a client might feel when receiving this treatment.

That’s why Mukha Abhyanga and face Marma therapy has been my initial offering from Ayurveda - not just the aesthetic benefits of a lifted face, reduced dark circles and improved skin tone or the other physical benefits of reducing congestion and aiding with tinnitus.

Performed weekly for six weeks, Mukha Abhyanga is referred to as Ayurveda’s facelift! Try it and notice the difference in your face and feel the difference on a physical and subtle level.

Mukha Abhyanga provides a so many benefits that go beyond the skin’s surface. It nourishes, rejuvenates, and balances the face while offering relaxation and promoting overall health. It’s an excellent way to enhance both your appearance and your well-being holistically.

Some of the benefits are explained below!

Improved Skin Health

  • Nourishes and Hydrates: The oils used in Mukha Abhyanga deeply nourish the skin, helping it retain moisture and stay hydrated.

  • When out of balance, Vata dosha causes aging and anxiety. Because of the Marma points in the face, the oils are absorbed into the skin and cells, balancing Vata.

  • Skin Radiance: Enhanced blood circulation from the massage encourages oxygen and nutrients to flow to the skin, promoting a natural, healthy glow.

  • Smoother Texture: The massage helps exfoliate dead skin cells, clearing clogged pores and resulting in a smoother, more even complexion.

  • Stimulates Lymphatic Drainage: The gentle and varied strokes assist lymphatic circulation, which helps to flush out toxins from the skin and reducing puffiness.

  • Reduces Puffiness and Dark Circles: The massage around the eyes improves blood flow and helps reduce fluid retention, which can minimize under-eye puffiness and dark circles, giving the face a more rested appearance.

Balances Doshas

  • Mukha Abhyanga can be tailored to an individual’s unique constitution made up of the elements and their qualities. These are classified into doshas (Vata, Pitta, or Kapha) in Ayurvedic tradition. Using oils suited to a person’s dosha helps restore internal balance, which can reflect on the face.
